DESCRIPTION:
The MobileWand 400 (MW-400) turns any Newton into a powerful data collection system!
Features:
- Easy to install
- Low current for long battery life
- Reads 9 popular bar code types
- Can be used as a stylus on the Newton
- Rugged and lightweight
This device is perfect for inventory control, asset management, records management, field sales, service and security applications.
The Mobile Wand 400 is a compact, self-contained bar code wand scanner with an itegrated decoder that connects directly to the serial port of the original Apple Newton MessagePads (need serial dongle for 2000 and 2100 models.) and compatible Newton PDAs. The MW-400 autodiscriminates up to 10 popular bar code types.
Communications parameters, bar code formatting and terminating character are amoung the many user-programmable options. The MW-400 does not require a battery, power supply, interface box or adapter (except for connection to MP2000 or MP2100).
This lightweight, low current scanner is ideal for field computing applications when ease-of-use and power conservation are of critical importance.
The Mobile Wand 400's configuration may be changed by scanning bar code menus or by sending escape sequences to the wand.
